Arrow Still need help for 2nd Gen Vented Hood Test Fitting! $100!

We have only had one person offer to help us out. The problem is that he is far away and Mike and my schedules aren't very flexible.

So, we need someone LOCAL to help us out. This means in the immediate Irvine California area; Santa Ana, Irvine, Tustin, Newport Beach, etc. We will probably need 3 more fitting appointments. We are offering $33.33333 for each fitting, a total of $100 paid AFTER the 3rd fitting.

I don't know what else to do but offer some money. If you can help, please email me at rx7hoods@atihun.com.

Thanks,

Attila

Maybe you don't get people to go because you never respond to peoples emails.

Ten people all of a sudden decided that they can 'help'.

I have not replied to any of the emails because I have some major personal things going on; I think that may be a little more important right now.

I appologize, I will try to reply by the end of the day.

It would be nice if someone would do this without requiring payment. You know, just step up and help the community. The good karma will come back to you. I'd certainly do it if I wasn't 9 hours away, but I also have a vested interest in getting this project completed.

Thumbs up

Update:

Ivan, a 2nd gen enthusiast came out today to help out. We really appreciate it since we were all standing out in the rain for about 3 hours.

The good news:

The hood will fit with the stock setup, including the stock fan and fan shroud. We took off everything and found that we didn't need to take anything off, rather cut the frigging hole for the hood latch area; DUH!

It also fits with the Racing Beat Strut tower bar. There is about 1 inch clearance above the Strut bar, and about 1/2 inch above the fan shroud. However, this hood should be used with an electric fan setup for optimal performance.

We have incorporated the minor changes requested; a bit higher vent, and the underside of the vent area fixed for maximum exposure to the inside of the engine bay.

The second/final mold is going to be started.

The hardware for the hood latch and hinges are ready.

The bad news:

It's snow season again; everyone at the shop is going to some kind of show for their snow products. This means that they will not have time to make the final mold until after Thanksgiving.

I should have a picture up today or tomorrow of us standing outside in the rain with the hood fitted onto the car.

Thanks again Ivan!

Is it just me, or is rain going to flow right into that thing?

Probably..but would it really hurt anything? Its not going to flow in while moving..only sitting still. From the position it looks like it it would fall right between the rad and the belts...essentially missing everthing. It may be of some concern water getting onto the belts and making them slip a little though, such as if you stopped at a redlight in the rain, etc..
My car gets garaged anyway, so I dont really care..

my only real worry is that when you're stopped for a bit, and your fan is blowing back onto your engine, that's going to blow it all over on the engine, just a concern, but most people who buy it will probably have garaged cars anyway

First, I'd like to say thank you to Ivan, and the rest of you who were willing to assist us but were not asked(at this time). Next, for those of you who have been asleep since June , here is the link to the group buy.
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=199590

Keep in mind, none of this would have been possible without me conceiving the project, Atilla attempting the project, and ten hardy souls to put up a NON- REFUNDABLE 70.00 deposit for prototyping. This has been a long, and drawn out process, but it looks like we are almost there. We will be increasing the height of the raised edge around 1/2", and maybe increasing the angle a little bit to allow for larger more effective vents.
As for the issue of rain, the vent openings are in front of the alternator, so the problem would be minimal, and for those who wish, you could easily fabricate a plug installed from the inside, out of closed cell foam. Thanks again to everyone, Carl Byck

Mike, Atilla, this is Ivan.
Yeah ppl, better be appreciating we were out in the friggin rain man.....err..yeah.... See we're busting our butts for you guys. The place they do it at is pretty cool too got everything we need. The hood would be great for any car with a front mount intercooler...you guys know any companies that do an after market top mount intercooler though?

Ohh yeah people and try to get ALOT of other ppl interested in buying this hood cause its one great hood, and unless you wanna pay 1000 to import it from Japan, this is the only way to get this type of design. And did i forget to mention that if you buy this hood, hot women will have sex in your back yard?
