Sticky Clutch

Hello I am new to this forum.. I've had my '91 N/A for a few years now. It doesn't have any mods except for the exhaust the previous owner had installed. I have noticed lately that when driving in the heavy traffic (holland tunnel at 5pm) my clutch pedal doesn't come back up when depressed. It still engages and disengages but it's very low. I have to stick my shoe under it and pull it up for it to go back to normal. Has anyone had this happen to them? What could be the problem?

p.s.

I am trying to work up my courage to do a TB mod. I've been reading some about it lately. As of right now I am wondering if it's necessary to remove the whole inlet manifold (blue arrows) or can I just remove the TB (red arrows)? I am still doing some reading on it, I don't feel too comfortable just yet.

Sounds like your hydraulics went out. See if your clutch fluid is low, then see if the slave/master cylinders are leaking.

You do not need to remove the entire intake, just the inlet tube on the passenger side of the engine bay that attatches to the TB. Then remove the four bolts (two are pointed at in red, another two are directly below them) that connect the TB to the black rubber gasket. It is possible that you cannot reach all 4 bolts (red) and that you will have to remove the entire upper intake (blue). It just depends on how good you are with a wrench, but you should be able to reach them.

One of my other cars did this. It turned out to be the slave cylinder, but it could be any of the cylinders in the system.
