Sticking Clutch pedal?

i was getting a sticky pedal ealier this year where when i let off it, the pedal would stay on the floor. i changed the fluid and for a few weeks, it was fine. it's sticking again now though so i'm wondering what it could be. could my master or slave cylinders be dying? could it just be the pivot on the pedal needs grease?

I had the same problem, and finally fixed it. I replaced the slave cylinder, and replaced flex hose with an ss one from Mazdatrix. It got better, but still would stick if I kept my foot to the floor for too long. Finally, I rebuilt the master cylinder and re-did the pedal setup using the FSM, and that did it. Don't forget to flush and bleed the system when your done.

If you're losig fluid, it's probably the slave cyl, if you're not losing fluid, it's probably the master. I've never heard of a hinge so sticky that it could resist clutch pressure.

Change both to be on the safe side. I went and changed my slave, and come to find out it was the master. NOPI.com sells both for $30 a piece if I remember.

The master is actually much easier to replace, that slave is in an ugly place, don't worry it's very, very easy.

I just replaced my master and slave and it was very easy. Only took about an hour. Don't forget to buy a new hose. It doesn't have to be the braided one either, just get a new one.

I've heard that using a braided one makes the seals in the master and slave wear out quicker. Don't know if that's an old wives tale or what though.

the pivot points on the clutch system use some pretty aggressive geometry to give the clutch pedal a nice easy feel with a long throw but this can cause some binding issues at the full in position, try spraying some lithium grease into the pivots(top clutch pedal arm and rod pivots) and then some rust penetrant, hopefully it should clear up your issue.
