Stereo problem
Alright, I haven't been able to find any aswers on here, so here is my predicament.
I have a Jensen CD player installed in the TII. Every time the turbo spools up the CD goes all staticy. I can't figure it out and I have tried getting the power for the deck from many locations, including straight from the battery.
Could this just be some kind of interference or is there a problem with my car? Yeah, I know that the deck is a cheapy, but it worked fine in my jeep.
Thanks for any help.

jensens are good decks. and the only thing i can think of... maybe... would be that when your turbo spools up the boost/pressure sensor, senses a boost change and sends an electrical signal to the ecu... maybe its not groudned the best and is sending to much of a power signal out.... i dunno, kinda weird

i would say better grounding and ALSO, where the deck sits in the dash it does get quite hot especially with a turbo motor, i have instances where the elctrical tape i used slid off the soldering point making it short out at high RPM, check it out, it may be the same thing, but grounding is also a good thing to check
Jensen decks are garbage, sorry, they are, they get the job done, but i wouldnt expect any longevity out of it, unless you were the lucky one and got the 1 out of 100 that last longer than a year
I work at kragen, i know

is there an amplifier involved? Also, check where the antenna cable is running from behind the deck. It could be picking up interference from other electronics. There are also some devices (the names elude me right now) that clean up the power feed to the deck (remember when back in the day (if you are over 30 yrs old) when old amplifiers would whine along with your rpm's?) whatever those things are called, find one and install it on your power feed. Find a better ground, and also increase the gauge of both power cable AND groung cable.

They are called noise filters. I had to install three in my tII. i have a crap 4 channel amp from checker and an 11 year old deck though. I tripple checked my grounds, powers and drains. you may just need to spend the money on a good deck.

All valid points, thanks guys. Yeah, this Jensen sux *****, I really need a Pioneer. I am going to try a better ground, right now its grounded to the tranny tunnel. I will just run a wire right to the battery.
I know that none of the connections are bad as I used good quality splice connectors, so its not shorting.
Thanks again guys.
