Starts then immediately shuts off

On my 88 I go to start the car and then it revs to about 2000 then dies. The car has been sitting and ran fine at first. It started doing this after deflooding it

My car was doing this and it was a vacuum leak. Check everything!

Holy vague batman. TII? Na? Anything done to it.... if you want some help give us some. But it does sound like it could be a vacuum leak.

Besides a vacuum leak, it could still be flooded, and the fuel pump could be cutting off (jumper the fuel check connector).

It's a na. Completely stock. It's been sitting for a while. Could it be the bad gas?

Don't think it's bad gas. How did you deflood it (be specific)? Did you disconnect anything on purpose or by mistake? Double check. AFM plugged in?
Try this real quick: Turn ign on (engine off, warning lights on), open hood, find yellow fuel pump check connector (may have black boot around it) near AFM area, and jumper the two pins. You should hear the fuel pump prime, and fuel rushing through the fuel rails. Now start the car.

Edit: what satch said.

Under the air filter, attached to air filter housing. After the air is filtered, it goes through AFM.
