Starts and idles fine; wont rev past 2k
Hey all,
I bought an 89 vert about a month ago, it had an engine fire on the previous owner, for $800. The motor itself only has 15k on it! Compression was crappy at first and had me worried that he may have been telling me a story. After replacing everything that got burnt, I finally got it to start. I can get it to start fine if I give it a little gas, it will idle great but will not rev past about 2k it will just cut out...???

That is 90% is your TPS. mine did that when i put my engine back together. Adjust your TPS and it will be fine.
