I'm working on an 87 SE rex and the problem I have with it is, it will start but about 1-2 seconds later it dies out...could it be flooded?
What kind of other problem could it have??

It sounds like you have the AFM unplugged. There is a switch in the AFM that detects when the engine is sucking air. What you are describing is the engine being primed by the start key position, then when you let go of the key, it goes to run, and that switch better have continuity or the fuel pump shuts off. Could be a massive intake leak, too.

thats the same prob i had after i took out my intake to the throttle body. The AFM is the part right after your airfilter...almost under it if your have stock set up. It basically has a flap that opens and closes so the engine gets the right amount of oxygen....other wise it will stall right away soon as you start it.
