Starting problem - Injectors Orings or what?

Good evening all,

Recently, I had some problems with my S5 Convertible. I've checked and lubricate the 5th/6th actuators. They've seemed to work fine. But my problem that stalled @ 5/6k rpm didn't get fixed until I have replaced new spark plugs, spark plug wires and fuel filter. Thanks for the support on that occasion.

NOTE: Fuel Filter can make your power stall @ 5k or 6k rpm.

Now another situation had arrived..

It seems like the car was running to its full potential, but I came across of losing lots of fuel. (Common sense, more fuel, more air, more power but..) I would have to pump gas every two days or so since I commute the car to work and school. I usually shift gear when I reach 3k rpm, and as you know that's not very high. Forgot to mention, the car is basically stock with cut springs from original owner.

Now, the situation is, I have been getting trouble to start the car. Sometimes, I can start the car, but everytime the car cranks up and start, you can hear the starting to engage slowing creeping up to 800rpm to 1000rpm.

I have heard that I shouldn't pump the gas while starting...or hold down the gas pedal while starting...I've tried both way and got lucky sometimes, I've also tried just cranking it...Got lucky on that too, sometimes. And I've also tried to push start the car (only tried that once, and that time it started..) Otherwise, the car wouldn't start..

Although, I did manage to check the spark plugs and found out that there's oil covering it. I've tried cleaning them and putting back on and if I get lucky, it'll crank up and start. (Smell like fuel when I spray down the oil)

So. I'm thinking it could be the O-ring from the Injectors. It could be something else that I'm not sure of, but I've manage to catch that situation as of right now.

I've called every autoshop about Mazda Rx7 Injectors O-rings and the only place that does manage to have it is from the dealer. Sucks but I'm guessing I have no choice but to get them.

If anyone had situation with starting up the car, please let me know. I'm hoping it's the injectors o-rings, or if it's not something else...ugghh

whats the mileage on your car? my car is a 1991 coupe and i had really bad starting issues way back. after it just got worse and worse... replacing spark plugs and not helping, fuel cut-off switch and not helping. i took my injectors out (both primary and secondary) and observed them.

the little plastic tips were cracked, dirty, and clogged. every time i would cut the car off. they would leak fuel into the engine. it would always flood out really bad.

i recommend www.witchhunter.com for cleaning them. take your injectors out... send them to them following the instructions and its around $90 i think. get them about a week later and install. you may want to also install a fuel cutoff switch that you can read how to on rotary resurrections writeup on his site in the tech section. i still have to use mine at times.

putting in a new starter helped me out as well... funny but the engine seemed to love it after i installed it... not the slow starting it used to be. it did great after that but that may not be your problem.

hope that helps.
