starting my jspec s5 install and have a few questions

I just received my jspec s5 and I am in the process of getting it ready to drop in my 88AE.

I have stripped down my s4 down to the bare block and also the jspec to bare block. I plan on using the jspec block and putting on all the s4 parts on top of it. I have removed the front covers and I am going to swap those. I am using my ported s4 intake manifold, fuel rails injectors and so on.

Is there anything else I should swap over? Anything I should look out for(exceot for backwards fuel lines)?
Any tips or what not to do's?

Any help would be appreciated.

The only things you need to swap are the front cover (for the OMP), the TB (for the OMP actuator rod) and the injectors (different plugs). All the other S5 bits should be left on. In particular the turbo and it's manifold, the complete intake manifold and the intercooler, as these are all better than the S4 bits.

yeah I forgot to mention that I was already running an s5 turbo and manifold. Now I have 2 of them.
The intercooler is not in very good shape, it is bent from shipping.

Would the s5 intake manifold still be better then a ported s4 one? Any sensors from the s5 that should be retained?
Any idea what the sensor is that is up a little bit higher then the spark plug hole on the front housing?

Without seeing yours I have no idea. But since the stock S5 manifold has longer, fatter runners compared to a stock S4 one, it stands to reason that a similarly ported S5 manifold will be better than yours. If you can be bothered porting it, do it. Otherwise compare them to see which you prefer.

It's all the same.

Knock sensor. The S4's is on the center plate under the oil filler.

THe BAC plug is different between series.

It's oval on S5's like the injectors.

I would say port the S5's.
