Drain the fuel and put in new stuff. Do a full 60k mile tune up...

spark plugs
new battery
change oil
flush radiator

Change the oil, oil filter, drain the fuel, change the fuel filter(s), make sure the brakes and clutch system is working...

Check the plugs, inject a little oil into the rotor housings while the plugs are out, spin her over by hand a few times to distribute the oil evenly...

That's about all I can think of at this point...

And check all the vac hoses. They become brittle when they are not heated up from time to time. Flush the brake fluid and clutch fluid because of condensation build up when a car sits for that long.

Do all of the above, and here's a good one. Prime the fuel system before starting the car. This will let you see if there's any fuel leaks from old parts crapping out. Better safe than sorry.

Now I'm not suggesting to do this, but I bought a car in similar shape (had been sitting for a year), and I just ran it with the old gas still in the tank. NA rotories can run on really shitty gas.

Definitly check all the fluids though, and hope he didn't leave the ebrake set. The rear calipers like to rust in place.

I would toss in some premix before you prime also, and prime the oil system: pull the egi fuse and crank teh motor for like 3 intervals of 10sec( so not to overheat the starter).
