Starter wiring is effed up. PIC PLEASE!

I just finished up an engine swap. My car is an 87 tII. As soon as I connect the battery the starter engages and sparks are coming from the battery terminal. I have the large black w/yellow striped wire on the long starter bolt and the big black wire with the protective boot on the left terminal of the starter. Then there is another small guage wire that is black w/yellow stripe that i had connected to the little tab on the starter solenoid. ANY pictures of a correctly wired starter and solenoid would help tremendously. Thanks.

I believe the large positive wire from the battery is on the wrong terminal, just wanna make sure, thanks.

Ok. I fixed that problem but now arrives another. When i go to start the car nothing happens. In the on position I can hear all of the solenoids and stuff clicking like normal but when i go to start it nothing happens. Battery is fully charged. When i connected the starter directly to the battery the engine turned over so the starter and starter sol. are fine.

When the key is in the on position, the fuel pump is not turning on like it should. I checked and its getting 12 volts. It seems like the neutral safety switch is messed up or something. Any help at all would be appreciated. thanks.

use a multimeter and connect it to the battery and try cranking the car. If the voltage doesnt drop, then somethin is wrong with either the ground or the power going to the starter. Follow the small black wire from the starter, it goes from the starter, to the battery area. Trace it and see if you have a pinched or a cut wire along there. When you turn the key to crank the engine, it completes the circuit from the ignition key module, where it sends power to the starter. They relay is probably bad.

If your fuel pump is getting 12 volts but not pumping, then the pump is bad. Another way you can try is to directly hooking up the battery to the fuel pump with two 14-10 gauge wires.

This is coverd alot the FC pump does NOT pump when the key is on! It only pumps during cranking or runing.

Try jumpering the fuel pump test connector.

You probably have an issue with the clutch safety switch or ignition switch.
