Greetings, first time poster... i may soon purchase an RX-7 from a friend, but there's currently a problem with it and i wanted to know what it is that i may be diving into...

Well the car is in decent condition and he was using it before he recently bought a new car, but then one morning it refused to start. he heard no click, and he says the alternator/battery is OK, so he thought it was the starter that went out. The next day, he tried it again and it started up just fine.

Well first question is, can it still be the starter? if the starter is bad, is it possibly that it can start and sometimes not start?

2nd question is, if it isnt the starter what else can cause the car to not turn on one day and suddenly work fine the next day?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

 

Could be starter, could be a loose battery terminal, could be a funky starter cut relay, could be lots of things. None major, hopefully...

Time to troubleshoot
