starter or ignition switch

ok, now i'm mad.
i just installed an alarm and recently disconneted it due to some electrical problems. now, when i insert my key into the ignition and turn it start it wont start, will not even click, like the starter kill relay is still connected but it isnt because the alarm is disconnected. before taking out the alarm, evertime i tried to de-activate the alarm. there would be a clicking sound coming from around the ignition switch. after i disconnected the alarm. the car has started fine, until today i go to start it and first i get nothing but a slow distant beep, as if the battery was dead, i go and readjust the batt cables and tighten them, then go back to start the car and then everything lights up but still no start.....
could the ignition switch be bad now, or would this be a starter problem? i have checked fuses and they all are fine
any ideas?

Probably you didn't disconnect your starter kill correctly from the aftermarket alarm.
