stand alone extra injectors in hard piping ?'s

O.K. Heres the deal. I've got a 88 TII with a Jay-Tech blow through intake. A Holley 650 bolted on top. Every mod you can think of. And it is still turbo'd. I am running as much fuel psi as the carbuerator will allow before things start blowing up. But I was told that I can buy a cheap stand alone injector setup from BR Performance ($325) that places 2-4 injectors in the hard piping. I've seen it done on EFI TII's and it worked well. I will be able to do this but I was told that my 15lbs of fuel may not be enough to run the injectors because of the high pressure in the piping may not allow fuel at a lower psi come out of the injectors. I was wondering if anyone here has extra injectors like this knows how much f/pressure injectors need or if it will work with my setup at all. Oh yeah, I am able to run 30 lbs of boost if I get more fuel, right now I have it set at 15 for my low fuel. Riddle me this. Will I need to push more out of the injectors than what is in the pipe?

That's an interesting idea. You'd almost have to have a seperate fuel system for the injectors. You're looking at 35 to 60+psi to run them. I don't know enough about the standalone inj. controllers, but it doesn't seem like it'd be too much trouble to adapt. All kinds of things come to mind, like can you have them boost and rpm mapped, and would you want a boost referenced pressure regulator. Time to get out the charts and stuff for the proposed injectors and pressures.

I like the idea of extra injectors in the IC piping but I've got an EFI system to start with.

Cheers

greddy makes a standalone system that can control up to 8 injectors if memory serves

also, someone on this board last week tried to buy a blowoffvalve off ebay, and got a standalone injector by mistake, try searching for threads that are titled something like "dont use ebay" or something like that

The system I am looking at has two controls, one too set what rpm you want the extra injectors to kick in at, the second is to set them to kick in at what ever boost you want. I've seen one work and these things aren't odd I've seen them all over. I am just having problems on deciding if it will work with a carb setup. And how do atock injectors get that much psi with the stock fuel pump? I have an extremely upgraded fuel system and I am not near that amount, I am running 15lbs. This system uses the same fuel it has its own dash mount controller for it. It doesn't hook up into the stock ecu.

Well guys. I am ordering my extra injector kit and its only $445. It would only cost 325 but since I am running over 22lbs of boost they have to mod mine to handle up to 30lbs. I feel so powerful. The guy said that it will work with my carb setup and I should have it all on by the end of next week. I all ready have the injectors and slots welded in my hard pipe for them. Hopefully this is the answere to my fuel starvation. I will post what ever the hell happens with this.
