stalling, bad idle at stop lights... high engine bay temps?

Ok so i started having this problem recently. i haven't changed anything that i know of so that is the main thing that makes me question what is happening.

when coming up to stop lights the idle starts to jump and almost die (today in the rain/humidity it dies twice.) but at speed, idle is normal and steady but at lower speeds while crusing around or below 3,000 it feels like the car is missing out and it jerks but the RPMs dont drop. when the idle is jumping and i get out and pop the hood. it seems to return to normal. today i popped the hood when it was about to stall and it came back to normal idle.

The strange thing is that i havent changed anything so i dont see why now it is doing it. i dont think it is any hotter outside then it had been before, and it seems to be getting worse...

I changed the plugs back to hotter ones because i was fouling them out, but the idle thing has happend a while after that and the car has been running good.

The filter is right on the turbo and it is basically right in front of the radiator. Could it be the filter needs to be cleaned/changed or do i need colder plugs again? the engine dosent knock and i dont know what else could be causing this? any suggestions? thanks.

The filter is in front of the radiator? And its directly on the turbo. That doesnt make any sense. I'm thinking you mean that the filter is right behind the radiator, which means if thats the case, that ur intake is probably sucking in an assload of hot air. You have a cone intake right (i'm guessing) if it isnt clean, you should either clean it or replace it AND if it is behind the radiator like i said, you should find some way to relocate it.

Also have you adjusted your idle screw by chance because that could cause a really rough idle. As for your spark plugs, use the stock ones if you havent done anything to your fuel management system as they cause the least amount of problems and work quite well for stock applications.

I'm not a pro on the forums by any means but your problem seems to be very generic you should search for similar symptoms. It would also help if you put the year of your car and any mods that are currently being utilized by the car, such as different injectors, bigger turbo, type of filter....you know, even the little things might help get you a better answer.
