My 91' non-turbo RX-7 when warm bounces between idle speeds of 1000 and 100 rpm. This pattern has about a 5 second period and the lower end of the pattern is accompanied by a suspicous sqeaking.

The idle speed itself doesn't bother me but the squeaking makes me nervous. There are plenty of fluids and lubricants for all the parts of the engine.

Anyone experience similar symptoms? Thanks.

The squeaking is only present at the very low idle speed, with an increase in throttle the noise stops.

I will look at my belts and power steering pulley today.
