I hear squeaks coming from the engine bay like a belt when I'm driving. Not sure if it's the pulleys. Only happens for about 5 seconds when Im in first gear reving or driving from 0mph to like 15mph. it stops squeaking once Im going faster or go into any other gears.

how should I tackle this? Car is a 1990 gxl

 

possibly one of the tensioners for the PS or the AC , its a bearing that wears

 

Do this to figure out if it's either a loose belt or a pulley, pour some liquid dish soap on your belts, if the noise goes away you got a slightly loose belt, re tighten.

Noise persists it's a pulley. Don't worry, dish soap is harmless

 

just dont tighten the tensioner bolts without loosening them first, I think we all learn this the hard way

 

I found out it was the alternator belt. I took a look the other day and the previous owner didn't even bolt it up properly. Thank god nothing seriously happened when I drove it for a day after buying it.
