Sputters after key to off then stops.....

Ok. Now I know that there really isn't a way to explain this in a short title so Thank you for clicking on the topic and at least reading to see if you can help at all.

What is happening is that on my 91 RX-7 NA manual trans when I turn the key to off the car will run for a second then sputter and eventually stop. I talk with someone and they said that it sounded like I was getting too much fuel.

I recently checked the fuel screen and when I checked mine I noticed that the connector on the top was broke and that the fuel pump did not have a good seal because the o-ring was not on the fuel pump. Prior to this when you shut off the engine it stopped immediately. I went ahead and put a new o-ring on the fuel pump so it was snug in the straw. I also changed out the assembly with a spare out of a 89 GXL manual that I had so that the connector on top was not broke.

Now when I turn the key to off it always runs for a second or two after and then stumbles to a stop. More of an annoyance than anything.

Any ideas of how I can fix this....???

Thanks in advance....

Leaking injectors can cause this problem too.

Any idea which ones???

Think it is just the o-rings or the injectors themselves that are leaking. I have a spare set of injectors.... Also I would need to get the upper intake gasket only if I check the injectors correct??

On a side note.... Does anyone know where the vacuum line for the cruise control goes. Would be wonderful to actually get the working for a change :P
