The spring that thinks it's a drill.

Here's a little oddity for you. I pulled everything off the top of the engine of my NA '90 last weekend and found this. It's from the firewall-side of the ACV.











I wound the spring back down and into the... whatever.








A dime and some JB Weld fixed it nicely. Anyone else see a spring eat its way through a metal cap like that before?

Last year, '89 TII we purchased new, heard an odd noise, e.g. escaping air/vacuum so did some investigating. Found that spring had worked it's way out. Spun it back in and used JB Weld to hold it in place. So far it's been good.

Thats bizarre. I've seen alot of strage things but thats really strange. interesting find.
