sppedometer problem

I put an alarm in my car today and the speedometer isn't working and my wipers went back to the old only slow problem. Where is the connection. Do I need to take apart the dash, and could the installer have done this?

There's a speedo cable that goes from the transmission to the dash instrument cluster. It's not hard to check if its connected, but to me it would seem odd that it would have been disconnected by the alarm installer. Also, I have no idea why your whipers would slow down.

If he went into the dash he probly knocked something lose, that cable doesn't have alot of play back there. Just take out the instrument cluster and check the connectings back there and make sure the cable is pluged in all the way.

Yep car alarm installer knocked the speedo cable off.

The wipers are probably a bad switch. I have rebuilt ones available on my website or can rebuild your's for you
