I have a S5 GXL, and I am getting ready to paint it . I took the stock spoiler off the other day to clean it, and I looked at my car, and I was thinking that I might like it better without the spoiler. What do you guys think? Stock spoiler, or no spoiler???

 

The stock spoiler is durable & conservative.
The look is popular, so it adds resale value.

The only negative is loading heavy stuff in the hatch.

 

Maybe they should bring back the repu for us!

 

i like the look of the 7 without the spoiler it looks very clean and even better on s5 then s4 because of the tailights but yeah i would say no spoiler unless ur planning on highway racing or track racing where u need the down-force

i like the clean look of NO spoiler or the S4 Sport spoiler.

 

Spoiler looks better imo. I have mine off right now, and don't like it.

 

s4's look good without spoilers, i duno i dont like s5's without them though. the s4 sport spoiler looks good on that car but wouldnt match very well with an s5 i dont think.

 

The spoiler makes the car look dated. For some reason it seems to scream "Pontiac". I've taken the spoilers off both of the RX-7's I've owned.

The car looks incomplete without a spoiler, even the little black rubber one that some of the s4's came with. It just gives the car a little flair, some looks, and it is a nice finish to the rear of the car. I would never think about loosing the spoiler on my GXL

 

An FC without the stock spoiler is like a beautiful woman without breasts and an FC with an after market spoiler is like a woman with a bad boob job, interesting but not very appealing.

Although it's possible to have it broken off by ppl (stereo thief in my case) who think that pulling on the spoiler will open the "trunk"

is the spoiler on n/a fc's cosmetic or functinal?

 

If you are running aftermarket wheels, then the FC looks good without the spoiler.

 

it is a functional spoiler, you can tell a difference when driving on the highway, driving them back to back you can feel the rear being a bit more loose, its kinda scary after 100mph, but with the spoiler going past 100 feels much safer...not that it is safe at all but it does work.

 

I voted NO, but agree, the sport spoiler looks good too.
