my 91 had its removed before i purchased it.

with it, it looks longer and sleek

without it, it looks shorter and meaner

this is with the proper wheels in both situations. 19" chrome fatties will just make it look that.

Get a spoiler fo sho, makes your car look way more sporty, but get a functional one and not sum 10 foot alluminum whale tail (i WOULD hafta kick your for getting something like that and putting it on a FC haha j/k)

If you looked at the first post you would see that I'm talking about the GTU spoiler. So you can be rest assured that I'm not going to turn the FC into a shopping cart.

Actualy the stock spoilers sit to low to be effective they are just for looks, hence they are made of foam rubber.

I think that they look better without a spoiler, but I'm a big fan of sleeper styling (as if a 7 could be a sleeper). The 7s look great without the spoilers.

Someone told me that the stock 89-91 spoiler only adds downforce at over 100 mph. But it doesn't detract from the functionality of the car, so go for it. Doesn't matter how good it looks if you are subtracting performance with a body mod. Just be prepared for it's limited usefullness under 100.

Except as the aforementioned gas cap holder...It's weird that my FC didn't have one of those...my 78 GLC did...and if ever there was a cheaply made, no options car, that was it.

I agree that it depends on some other factors. Nice wheels and ground effects look really good without a rear spoiler, or dare I say with a tastefully sized one set off the car( ). For plain stock bodywork and wheels as well as no suspension drop, the spoiler makes it look more complete and sporty.

That's true, it does make it look more complete, but without a spoiler, you can slip by 5-0 a little easier - provided, of course, if you don't have a straight pipe and dual N1 exhaust like I do - then it's pointless. Might as well look like those crazy circuit cars over in the land of the rising sun.

Mr. ImportGuy that was an incorrect statement about the stock spoiler. They do serve purpose (thus they came in an aero package), it drops the rear lift to .08 I believe the number was. The rest of the package changed the Cd from .31 down to .29. btw...it's made of urethane .

Oh yea...I think they look drop dead sexy with or w/o a wing or spoiler (mine doesn't have one...hint hint), but I personally like the aero package spoiler (not the GTU wing...but it's nice too). But most likely in a little while I'll be adding the Mazdaspeed rear element to my car and the GTU wing as well as the front spoiler.

anybody with the factory GTU type spoiler- does having it get rid of that "floating *** end" feeling I'm getting @ around 120?

I just got my Turbo II painted Brave Blue which was the color of my 91 rx7 that some piece of **** totaled. What I did was take off the parts from the 91 and put them on the 87. So naturally I'm going to add the spoiler. I think Turbo II's look better with spoilers.

87 sport wing is a lip wing and attaches to the edge, look at my sig and you'll see the difference, similar to an 87 sport

here's me going against the grain: I think that an FC w/o the stock wing actually looks FASTER (ironic I guess). To me the whole car looks more slick, bullet like w/ no wing. I have one on my GXL and don't plan to take it off, but the thought crossed my mind.
