Spoiler Installation

Can some one give me some pointers on installing a spoiler on a 7 that didn't have one to begin with (no holes)? What the best way to do it properly/straight? Easiest way to get the mounting holes in the right place...the first time. Any pointers are helpful. Thanks,

Justin

My Wings West supra style wing came with some plastic things that made mounting, positioning and drilling the holes easy. Picture this if you can.

They are shapped like the T where the top bar is flat and lays on the body of the car while the leg of the T is in the hole of the wing where the screw will go. The part of the mounting adapter that sticks out from under the wing can be taped to the car and will stay in place when the wing is removed. At that point you can much easier mark where the holes need to be drilled.

Now that your throughly confused I'll go.

IF its a stock wing, it will have some screws alread in it. JUst lay it on your car, line it allup where it should be(its pretty obvious just line up the sides and back corner) and draw some sicrles around each bolt. There will be 2 in the middle, and 2 on the sides. Then, when you bolt it dow, you just need to drill a small hole in each front corner for that little screw.

IF its aftermarket, ITs best to make a setup like the guy above talked about. OR, take some grease or something, smudge it on the mounting holes on the bnottom of the wing, position the wing without letting it down fully, then sit it down adn hold it, then raise it straight up, and youll have your pattern outlined.

You could put some lipstick on the moutning holes of the spoiler, and when you place it in the position you want it in you'll have marks on the car to tell you where to drill.
