Split air solenoid valve??? Closed saves gas??
It has two sensors connected to it. I'm not really sure of its purpose
, but I do know that the sensors connected are damaged and need to be replaced.
Would I need to replace the entire component or can I replace just the two sensors. Where can i get them from.

The solenoids screw in. There's a small poppet valve and spring under it. Pay attention and don't lose them. Get used ones from ??? junk yard or the for sale section on this forum.
Split air has close to zip to do with anything. Engages only in fifth gear to feed a bit more air to the converter. Not engine related at all. Port air solenoid adds a tash more air at different times. Not engine performance related.

A friend of mind has actually sealed the section with some kind of plate. When the valves are opened, you have better low end, when they open, go figure. The only thing now is that his valves don't actuate or compensate.
At least he doesn't have to worry about the unneeded thing... what ever

The ACV and the solenoids screwed in it, have zippity to do with air/fuel going to the engine. The airpump and ACV feed air to the exhaust ports and a bit to the split air pipe for emissions purposes.
The ONLY time air from the ACV is routed to the intake air is upon deceleration where upon the anti-afterburn valve inside the ACV opens and feeds air thru two approx 1/32"nd inch holes in the intake runners, to .........prevent afterburn.
You can leave the solenoids screwed in the ACV as they are and disconnect their elect plugs and have no problems passing emissions IF everything else is good.
I'd suggest buying these two solenoids from the WANTED section of this site. I wouldn't give more than ten bucks for a good working one with excellent wiring.
