speedo cable too long?

I am looking to attach my speedo cable to the tranny and a, its really longer that what it seems it should and b the security not that goes on the tranny has no threads what so ever to grip the threads on tranny any ideas?

Where did you get that speedo cable?

The obvious, replace the speedo cable with one from a junk yard FC.

I got it from eBay and yeah I prolly need to go to the junkyard
