a-spec & j-spec 1/8 npt different?

has anyone had any problems connecting a-spec and j-spec npt parts together? i have a sard fpr from japan with earl's fittings. all the american stuff fits together perfectly but doesn't mate well with the fpr. and it's the same with my greddy oil filter pedistal. it doesn't mate very well with the american defi temp gauge.

You sure it's NPT?
J-spec stuff likes to use 1/8"BSP fittings instead of 1/8"NPT.

i've never heard of bsp but that would explain why it wouldn't mate well with the npt stuff. so i should've used 1/8 bsp to -6 an assuming there is such a thing?

BSP = British Standard Pipe
1/8"BSP - 28 looks very similar in appearance to 1/8"NPT - 27.
In fact, you can probably screw in a 1/8"NPT - 27 into a 1/8"BSP - 28 and vice versa about 50% of the way before it starts to tighten up.

Our stock oil pressure senders are 1/8"BSP - 28.

If you do try that and happen to tighthen it you may find trying to take it back out will take brut force,even if you can get it out without leaving part of the sensor in the port hole.Been there done that.
