speaker mounting depth
i have a 1990 gxl, i was wondering about the mounting depth on the door and dash speakers... i'm looking at speakers and stuff, and i don't want to buy speakers that are too deep like my friend did....

Well the OEM stuff already has 1.25" spacers in the doors. I fit some cerwin vega 6.5" speakers in there, but I had to make a 1" space (2.25" total) to avoid hitting the glass. The door interior worked fine with the spacers.

I had problems with fitting dash speakers in my TII there doesnt seem to be much depth there. I was installing 3.5" or 4" I dont remember Boston Acoustics.

yeah, the "under dash" speakers are 4 inch I believe. Crutchfield sells them - www.crutchfield.com .
You can call them & verify.
I installed some infinity speakers under there. You should put a crossover (or bass blockers if your cheap) to filter below 100hz.

i've got a system lined up already... my friend is hooking me up with a pair of CDT CL-641's with a pair of rear coax fillers... i just wanted to make sure that the speakers wouldn't be too deep... thanks
