Spark Plugs (Leading and Trailing)

Hey guys i just put new plugs in my car today for the first time and i asked my friend who used to have an FC and he didnt quite remember but said he thought he remembered it Leading in the top Trailing in the lower, i said to be sure i'd look on the old ones and see which were where, and they were leading in the upper trailing in the lower just as he said, as i was putting the second set in, on the right side of the block i saw a T next to the top hole and an L next to the lower hole, so to double check I looked in the Haynes manual and sure enough the old ones were in the incorrect places..

My question is what does this do? It seemed to run fine with the plugs installed incorrectly. Is there any potential damage done to my motor? or are they just a small detail?

Not gonna damage anything unless the wies were also backwards. (The leading coils to the trailing, top, plugs and vise versa). They are just different heat ranges. Should run better just from getting the correct heat ranges.

Pretty sure that it's incorrect in one of the places in my Haynes manual.

Easiest way to remember...

TRAILING=TOP
LEADING=LOWER

T and L, doesn't get any easier than that!

Just swap em back to where they should be and don't worry about it.

that and the trailing plugs have blue rings on the ceramic insulated end. the rings always remind me of a blue sky..hence up top. never get those confused, lol.

not that i want to steal your thread but since you're talking about plugs... i've noticed that mines are all the same... i'm running with 4 equal plugs... is this good or bad?? because some people told me that there was no problem at all to do this and it's actully better than having two types of plugs...

What's the heat range, or the plug number?

if you have a turbo car, it's fine to run 4 BUR9EQ plugs.
