spark issues

87 NA. Traveling at 90 mph today when all of a sudden i have a severe power loss and all i can smell is burnt oil. Would run like **** and wouldn't idle. Towed it home and started with spark. Leading sparked every once in a while while engine struggled to run. Trailing sparked most of the time skipping a spark every 2 seconds or so. Plugs are good, wires are good, swapped the coils out and i still have the same problem. I'm going to check the crank angle sensor for resistance but after that i'm stuck. Please help.

hows your timing? wires have the right resistance in FSM? TPS in right spec? How are your grounds ?

Timing is dead nut, grounds are clean. I also checked the resistance of the coils and the crank angle sensor and both were within spec. After cleaning all of the sensors and grounds, I did manage to get the Leading plug to fire regularly but still nothing on the Trailing. It would spark continuously for a second and then cut out again and stay out. It seemed like it only wants to spark when the engine first starts and revs above 2000 rpm's. Will check TPS next.

Check the compression. Sounds like a dropped apex seal.

Dammit... compression reading 0 psi for all three chambers. Sounds like more than one dropped. How does that affect spark, though?

I even have little metallic peices that stick to a magnet around the inside of the spark plug hole.
