Sound ...TAR from hell

Well, i've got the carpet out... completly, including under the dashboard area.. I started working on the sound deadening Tar this morning

I could not find any dry ice so i was forced to use a scrapper and a hammer.. OMG! this stuff is hell. 7 hours later i completed the drivers side chassis well. COMPLEATLY! I've got pics comeing soon.

I plan on repainting the interior chassis area that will be seen... than putting a metal/aluminum footrest (for where my feet go)

i will do the passenger side chassis tomorrow or sunday.

A long and strenuous project, but when i'm done i think will look good. There's nice metal under all that tar, ready to be prepped and painted

keep you informed.... any opinions / words of wisdom would be great
Would it be easier with Dry ice???
thanks

-Markus

You don't have a 31 flavors or other ice cream store in your area??? almost all ice creams stores carry dry ice

Ah, there was the problem, it was warm that day. I did mine over two days (entire car including trunk area) but it was winter time here in Oregon and the stuff just flaked off with a tap of the chisel and mallet. When the tar is warm it is stickier and won't flake off as well.

Regular ice will work. Dry ice will work really well.
