sound good?

ive found an 87 or 88 i cant remember rx7 convertible, red with black top. nice condition with one dent from someone backing into the front drivers side fender. needs to be cleaned inside. car has 250,xxx miles, but has a rebuilt motor with 80,xxx miles on it. it hadnt moved in 2 years. and he started it up the other day and said that it reved up allt he way to 8k and he shut it off. so the engine works. we know that now. but im wandering what it could be. im hoping something as simple to fix as a stuck throttle cable. but i could be wrong. anyway does it sound like a good deal or not?

forgot to mention im getting it for 500 bucks

and one more thing. i dont plan on putting insurance on it till i get it running and everything and ive been told that i cant get it transferred into my name unless i put insurance on it.. so yea, forgive my ignorance but what can be done here. the owner wants to get rid of it because he's moving so he'll probably be gone by the time i get it in good enough shape that i will put insurance on it.

just a few suggestions and stuff.

o and the vert top has small leak too. which kinda makes me weary, but for 500 bucks i still think its a good deal.

your input please.
