sometimes idles high until i "pull on" the throttle

OK so I got my 87 turbo tuned and idleing(sp?) great a while ago. Problem is tht some times after it is fully warmed up. It will idle at like 1200rpm. If I use my foot and put it UNDER the throttle, and pull up on it, it goes back down to the 775 I have the damn thing set at. Now it does this with or without a/c on, fully warm, and is constant, as in it will idle at the 1200 for a full stop light. Some stops, it is the 775 for the whole time, some its 1200. And it goes down each and evey time i "pull" it up with my toe.

So is the throttle cable sticking or maybe its something on the TB or accelerator pedal? Where do I start my search?

Thanks

AUG

Mine will do the same sometimes. I think it is the return spring on the TB. Loosen your throttle cable a bit, and when it happens again check to see if it is loose. Then you will know it is the return spring on the TB. I have been thinking about just putting another spring on it like an old carb. engine. Good luck.
