It's all XS stuff...that's the point behind XS, cheap knock-off parts. Probably a decent kit for someone who doesn't intend to do much. If I had $500 lying around I would pick it up...just for the turbo, if nothing else.

Well, HKS makes a stainless steel manifold. I've read some bad things about SS manifolds, and that made me a bit uncomfortable, but I think HKS knows what they're doing. they just charge WAY TOO MUCH! STILL seems a bit odd.

Look up XS BOV's. They make a SSEQ (?) knock off that's like 1/4 the price of the genuine part. It's an "XS" thing. Ebay's knock-off people...

what I want to know is if this setup will last more than 10k miles. I'd like for it to last 100k, but I wouldn't expect to go more than 30-40k without issues.

i've heard nothing but shitty things about these products, but then again, how can the wastgate be "bad"? the spring might not compress properly?

i can see how the turbo won't last that long. probably built as cheap as can be. oh well, just buy it and tell us how it goes

almost forgot. DITCH THAT MANIFOLD if you get it. that i KNOW is completly worthless.

edit-look at his feedback. no way in hell would i do business with him.

i guess the old saying goes. do it once, do it right.

The kit is made our of CRAP parts.
The parts are all KNOCK-OFF's.

"(1) BRAND NEW TURBO
Garrett T04 62-1 Turbo
.62 TRIM
.60 A/R
.86 EXHAUST SUPER SPOOL
STAGE V WHEEL
GARRETT HYBRID
GARRETT INTERNALS"

Garrett doesn't make a "62-1" turbo.
The 62-1 is an exclusive Turbonetics design.

There is no such thing as a ".62 TRIM".
Maybe "62 trim"?

".86 EXHAUST SUPER SPOOL"?
0.86 A/R turbine?

"STAGE V WHEEL" implies this is a T3 turbine wheel, so this is not a true Garrett T04 turbo.

The turbo exhaust manifolds are crap.
A guy down here bought two of them for $150!!!
This should tell you how cheap these things are.
I've looked at the welds.
It looks good from the outside, but weld penetration is poor.
These things crack easily...at the welds.
Yes, so it will not crack at the 2.2mm pipes, but the welds are junk.

The wastegate is a knock-off of the HKS design.
The knock-off's have been known to fail.

Since I'm still trying to get a handle on turbo sizing for rotaries, do the A/R's seem small for our cars? What kind of hp could one expect with a turbo this size? Would a turbo sized like this one even perform?

A real Turbonetics 62-1 turbo will produce 400 to 450hp at the wheels (DynoJet).

with propper fuel, boost, controllers, coolers, exhaust, intake, etc., etc., etc...

This is JUST a turbo, wastegate, and BOV pretty much.

It's been proven that stone racing makes some pretty shoddy "turbo kits". It's not a brand name turbo (lord knows what it is), and it's also a crappy manifold. Listen to Ted on this one.

Most of them are crap, but we got one for our 20B project car from "d2power".
The seller is from like Hong Kong, but he does have pretty good feedback.
For under $500 we got a killer IC that would've costed us $1000 + $200 for endtands + $100 for welding.
I dunno how this bitch can sell them for that cheap, but I was susprised at the quality.
