ok, i have a spare s5 motor that has been laying around my shop for a little while and i finally decided that i dont need it and want to sell it on the forums, my problem is that i know that any one who would buy it will want compression numbers and i cant get the starter to spin it so i can get a comp check

the engine is still hooked up to the tranny and starter

the engine is not locked and you can hear that it has comp when you spin it by the front pulley

i have tried jumping power to the power terminal and ground to the ground terminal trying to get the starter to spin, i know the starter is not bad,

what am i doing wrong

connect your positive lead to the positive connection on the starter connect you negative to the starter flange. and then cross the relay with a screwdriver and it should crank.
