some under body rust, how bad you think it is?

so i am coming to the end of my swap and have spent alot of time under the car looking up at it and am trying to decide what i should do with the shell. the pics below are a little big but show the under side of the car well and highlight the problem areas. i would like you opinions about how bad the body is or isnt.

all the above pics are on the drivers side, the following are the passenger side

this is the worst spot i could find on the hole car. the hole does not go into the cabin of the car but into a wird little area in between the firewall and cabin

so now the question is what should i do?

Just cut around the holes and weld sheet metal in. If the hole goes through the floor and in the cabin then you'll need to remove the carpet to weld on that side too. I had to do this to my car because of a crappy anti-rust treatment.

The good news from the pictures you've shown is that the frame rails look solid. On my old S5, where the frame rails are overlapped and welded were nearly as rotted as the floorboards; almost clean through in two spots. I decided to just find another car, mainly because I've never done any welding and the shops I consulted wanted more than the car was worth to fix it. I wish you better luck with yours.

Well my frame had rust too but I managed to repair it with simple sheet metal. Anybody want pics? I'm on dial-up so I'm not gonna bother otherwise.

That's a very common area. Most FCs that have spent some time in the winter have issues around that area because dirt and leaves collects, holding in the moisture.

You can cut out the rust and weld in some metal to replace the area, then coat with paint or undercoating (I like POR-15).
