My TII did the same after it flooded in a drive-thru. I just shut it off, let it sit overnight and tried it again, and it was fine. Dont know if that will help you in this situation but in mine it just needed to chill for a while.

If your rex is anything like my old one I would just replace the wiring harness. That way it will fix your problem and also any future problems. My old rex had loads of problems. (Lights wouldn't go up or down, dome light didn't work, tail lights only worked if the front lights were off (ya wierd), horn didn't work ect.)

what were you doing when this happened? because the speedo is mechanical so thats not electricaly dependent. also did the background lights for the gauges go out too?

i wasnt doing anything... i was backing out of my garage... everything was working... i took a look 5 mins later wen i went to down shift for something and the tach wasnt working... said temp gauge was cold and my fuel gauge was droppin by the second. I've already let it sit over nite and tryed to start it again so that isnt the problem... couldnt it be a bad ground somewhere or maybe the instrument voltage stabalizer? just some thoughts... I would like to avoid changing the whole wiring harness... i havent had any electrical problems until now and everything else seems to be working fine... except for my heater/AC for some reason stopped workin about the same time as these gauges.

matt

PS (yes the backlights on the gauges are still lit up)
