sup guys. i have a question. what is the 5th gear switch? what does it do? i did the t2 swap and ive had it not hooked up sence i did the swap 5 mos ago.

 

I believe it allows the cruise control to be used.

*edit* I also think the same switch controls your reverse lights.

 

It also tells the stupid car to turn the stupid SHIFT UP light off.

it leans out your crusing in 5th gear for better gas mileage on the hyway.

 

i have mine unhooked too and it seems to give a little more torque in 5th gear

 

The 5th gear switch advances timing slightly, switches the air pump to pump right into the exhaust stream and lowers injector load, increasing gas mileage and loweing emissions.

so in bottom line, it increases gas mileage, increases top speed and makes the car burn cleaner.
