Some problems after starting my new engine

Hey there!..Yesterday i fired up my new engine with a streetport, TO4B, E6K and some goodies. ANyways, after Manolis_D (thans man!) provided me with a map for the E6K my car started up right away! AMAZING!.. Took me 3 long years to finish this project. Anyways i notices some problems.

1) Exaust leak from the homemade DP extension between the RB full exaust and the T04B.

2)fluid leaks (no biggy)

3)Idles and flactuates between 1.5-2K RPM.

4)When doing the timing, i cant see the timing marks.

5)MIght have vac leak but cant find it. Any points to look at?

Does exaust leak cause high idle???
DOesnt the pulley go ONE WAY (bolt pattern wise).
What is the best way to find vac leak?.

TIA

u tried spraying chemtool or something to find the vac. leak?that might very well be ur idle problem.the timing advances with rpm,so since your ideling at 2k,it would be advanced quite a bit.try to get the idle down,so you can set ur timing better.duno 'bout turbo stuff, thou,i'm just n/a.

sorry, just saw the last part.if you spray chemtool [some other stuff works also]you can try and find a vac. leak by spraying small areas, gaskets etc.
if there is a leak, the idle will drop way down when the chemtool gets sucked in.
and,yup,only 1 way for pulley.

You cant set timing, or even see it, with a 1.5k-2k idle...

Exhaust leaks dont cause high idles. This is a function of either your throttle plate clearance adjustments (idle set screw on TB) or some EMS setting of yours.

You have an EMS and have more than 5 vacuum hoses?? I use starting fluid, sprayed on the intake carefully (around the exhaust), and when the engine revs up you have found a leak.

Fresh engines usually do not run smoothly for the first little while.
