Bought my new toy in April with a blown motor. It spent the next few months getting rebuilt, a FMIC, and various other goodies. I managed to put 1500 easy miles on it before diving in with some more minor mods. Hoping to have it back up and running this week so I can finish breaking her in and see what she can really do.

gotta ask you a question on teh seats.

Did the seats still have hte same height off the floor? ie is the seat higher or lower than stock ? or the same? did you use the corbeau sliders specific to rx-7 or did you use the corksport sliders?

I gotta be hontest, the seats were kind of a bitch - when I first put em in my head stuck through the sunroof (I'm just shy of 6 ft.) Fortunately for me I live in SLC where Corbeau is located so I called them and they sent me to the guy that does their custom work. 18 hrs and a few bucks laterI had new bottom cushions that sat just over an inch lower. They still sat a little tall so I notched the mounting brackets - I used Corbeau's - and trimmed them down a bit. I am back to stock height on the drive side and maybe just a tad taller on the passenger side. The side bolsters are super supportive now that the bottome cushion is lower too.

 

The guys at Mariah cut those in to expose more of the intercooler. They did some really impressive work on that front end - it even has a piece of rollbar tubing running behind the bumper to protect the IC.

When they cut in the air inlets they just marked em off and used a drum sander with 80 grit to clean em up. I've since put aluminum mesh behind the inlets as well as in front of the IC to help protect them.

 

Those are SA-90's in all their glory! Not many ppl seem to know much about Weds, which makes them all the more appealing to me.

The harness is mounted through a couple of holes that were actually predrilled in the rear deck. I have no idea what they were for but I'm guessing they had to do with the 2+2 setup. I just popped the rubber plug out, drilled em a little bigger, threw a big washer on went with it.

 

how much do those cost? and what sizes?

my dad's 240Z has some old school Weds wheels on it. they are really nice.

 

can you take a pic of the brackets? how wide are the seats? those are the corbeau A4s right? does it rub the door or come close to it when you close the door?

that is one of the nicest t2s ive seen in a while, very custom like feeling when you look at it, it looks like a very fast car, doesnt even have to move an it looks fast. very nice man take care of it.

 

Mine are 17x8 F and 17x9 R both with 35 mm offset.

According to Weds website (www.weds.co.jp) they are available in 15x7, 16x7, 16x8, and 17x7.5 as well.

I paid around $1400 for the set but I'm pretty sure I got a really good deal.

Can't really get a picture of the brackets that would help you out much. Basically what I did to the brackets was to elongate the mounting hole up and cut the ends of the brackets off so as to lower the whole assembley when it is mounted. I also trimmed the carpet from around the mounting points so that it would sit closer to the floorboards.

The seats don't rub anywhere - fit really nicely from that perspective actually.

They are the CR-1's. I sat in some A4's after I found out about the height problem and they didn't fit me at all. They are really narrow and the side bolsters have a bar under them that isn't very well padded. I'm pretty skinny and I thought they were terribly uncomfortable.
