Some performence questions for a NA

Ok, i hav a 86 NA, and my friend told me that by removing the air pump from my exhaust and plugging up the hole will still allow the 5th and 6th ports to open up.

He also said after doing that I could basically remove the air pump belt so that there is 1 less belt to turn.

Would this hurt the car in any way ?

Also, i was considering wiring my 5th and 6th ports open, ive read tat i would lose basically all of my low end torque but i would gain alot of high end power. Would this be recommended ?

Also, how wuold i know if my injectors are leaky, or dirty ? are their symptons ? where are they located ? (sorry noobie questions)

And finally, im think about removing the first set of plates in the throttle body, ive heard that this increases throttle response but again you lose your low end torque.

ANY of the above would you rotary experts recommended ? I'm just looking for some cheap power for my NA. Any ideas would be great

Mods : 2.5 straight pipe, no cats, intake.

Thanks

yea 1 belt less to turn but it can also cause the water pump belt to slip and overheat

The S4 6PI system works on exhaust backpressure, so removing the air pump will have no effect on the auxiliary ports opening.

Yeah, but that makes basically no difference. As mentioned earlier though, the reduced belt contact on the water pump will cause it to slip. The solution is a dual-belt alternator pully so the water pump is run by two belts. (Go look at your belts and this will make perfect sense.)

It won't hurt the car, but you won't pass emissions if you need to.

Also, i was considering wiring my 5th and 6th ports open, ive read tat i would lose basically all of my low end torque but i would gain alot of high end power.
Pure BS. The auxiliary ports are supposed to be open at high rpm anyway, so there is zero improvement in top end unless they weren't opening properly in the first place. You will loose low-end performance though.

Also, how wuold i know if my injectors are leaky, or dirty ? are their symptons ? where are they located ?
Leaking injectors can cause flooding. Dirt in the injector pintle (the cause of the leak) will also upset flow volume and spray pattern, resulting in an engine not running as well as it should. The primary injectors are located in the engine's centre plate under the intake manifold; the secondaries are located on top of the manifold and are easily seen.

And finally, im think about removing the first set of plates in the throttle body, ive heard that this increases throttle response but again you lose your low end torque.
The increase in throttle response only works on Turbos, as they have a damper on them that slows their opeing. NA's don't have that damper. There is no loss of torque either though.
