Some more pics of my car
Well, i drove the t2 to the new house, and heres some pics of the car. Granted, the garage is still a big mess because we just moved in.
im in the process of cleaning up the front end. Stripping the paint and re-doing some area around the front clip. Should look really nice.

so cymfc3s,
i see the stuff on the floor in front of the bumper, the stuff that bolts on to it. are you going to leave it how it is when you install the bumper back on? i was thinking about stripping mine like that for a big fmic.

im going to rig some better brake ducts. But, im not sure whether or not to put in the bumper reinforcement. Depends on how tight the intercooler is. For a street car, having the reinforcement is a must. I wouldnt recommend leaving it out.

cymfc3s,
I SOOO want to retore mine like your doing.
How hard was it to paint yourself. I'm assuming you stripped it to the frame or just a repaint?
I keep seeing all the little patches of surface rust on mine underneath and I don't think anything else will do except A COMPLETE TEARDOWN. I just have never painted myself and I'm scared it either goof up sanding or painting.
thanks

Yo,
Hey! I called first dibs on his rig like TWO years ago!!! *snicker* It's one of the signs of the Apocolypse that it's actually moving. *grin* It'll be sweet when it's all done, Seth is taking his time and cleaning/polishing/restoring pretty much every part of the car, including the subframes, a-arms, etc. When it's completed, I have no doubt it will be one of the cleanest FC's out there. Not to mention one of the quicker ones out there. FD's beware, little brother FC is comin' to KICK YOUR ***. *grin*

I had a body shop paint the exterior. Im just putting some finishing touches on the around the front clip. The areas that im working, im stripping to the bare metal, and re-primering it and then putting a few coats of paint on it. Doing that all around the car is a huge amount of work. If you just want to repaint over the existing paint, you have to sand off the clear coat. More fun! Makes everyone wish they had Kevin's paint on his GTUs.
The suspension, you can remove it, bead blast it, and throw some new bushings in it, and it will look like new again.
