Some engine gremlins

Symptoms:
Starts then dies (not instantly, rather stalls itself out) pretty quickly after start up. Can be feathered or held at a higher RPM to warm up.

Once warm it will hold an idle at about 600-750 depending on the day.

Any ideas? I've check for vacuum leaks many times and found none, I recently was backed into, my front bumper and hood got bashed in (just a little crumple on the hood, the bumper is gone) so I don't want to pop the hood until I've got a very good idea of everything it could be.. just in case it won't close again.

I've done the TB mod, and this was all happening even before my car was hit by an H2 or something (I wasn't there).

Check your BAC valve, if its gummed shut, or the feed line is kinked (not sure if thats possible lol) then you could see problems like that. This is becuase you've done the TB mod so your fast idle cam is removed.

Take the BAC valve off, clean it up, and get a can of carb cleaner. Spray it out so that the valve moves easily (it won't move very far when off, but you can still see a difference when cleaning). Once that **** done, hook er back up and try that cold start again.

The ECU will tell the BAC valve to stay open for compensation of a cold engine, to keep your RPM up so it does not stall. Your holding your foot down for a while and it goes away becuase while your doing that, the valve is slowly opening to allow more air in, once it does open up your car does not stall.

could also be the fuel pump switch in the AFM, if Blackplague's suggestion doesn't work and you haven't checked fuel pressure then try jumpering the fuel pump circuit and start it up and see if the symptoms still exist. if they are gone then either your AFM is fubared or some jackass pulled the cap off and messed with the setting.

My BAC harness has been known to come loose, I'll check that asap.

And about the hood, ya I know I should fix it. Send me the money? It's an aluminum hood, I'll get someone to bend it out as soon as I can. I suspect the car will be primer painted for a while.
