after looking at many dolid motor mounts they look easy. (i am a fabricator too on my lathe and bridgeport milling mach) you're basically making a hole in the center of your stock then turning it down until they are the proper dia(~2.5" +/- .1"). cut em to length and bolt them in.

Keep in mind that you have to make solid Engine Mounts, Tranny Mounts, and Rear Diff Mounts to keep stress off the drive system.

rumor that i have heard are you get more vibration through the car (duh) , but there is no lag for shifting and better response for acceleration. I think I'll make some poly or delrin ones and see how those are.

i have them and like that there is no play in the motor mounts nor tranny but it does give some vibration not too bad but then again mine is not a daily driver i think for a daily driver i would prefer stock or the extra firm but not poly or solid

good to know Cosmo, i was thinking of making myself a set out of Delrin or PolyU, but knowing that my car will be a daily drive I may just go more for an engine torque brace to absorb the rotation during... spirited driving.

I run solid mounts on my 87...I drove it daily last summer - MINOR vibrations but really there is no actual NEED to go solid at those horsepower levels........with that said.....I will be TO4-S'ing this summer and I just ordered the poly drivetrain mount set.......
