So the previous owner messed up the ignition system...

This is a diagram of where I found the spark plugs and how they were connected.

Now we all know that Leading is on the bottom, Trailing is on the top, and the rotor closer to the pulleys is 1 and the rotor closer to the transmission is 2.

Just wondering... I've put about a thousand miles on the car with this setting (maybe 10 miles of that was under full boost - 7.5psi for stock 89 turbo II), do you think I damaged my engine much? I bet it partly accounted for my less-than-average gas mileage (around 13mpg) since the car is pretty much stock with a Greddy exhaust and intake.

The car will be fine. The trailling system is mainly for emission/economy anyway.

Leading= Lower
Trailing = Top

so if your diagram is from the side, they were hooked up correctly

I think he just somehow inversed the diagram.

Maybe he is referring to the actual plug designation, and had the 9's in the bottom spot and the 7's in the top.

Which wouldn't make any difference anyway, other than a little harder start and the chance of detonation if it was really warm out.

Lol that pic I made was just for laughs... it's how I found the plugs connected and where they were (by the previous owner). From looking at the engine right side up.

I figured it wasn't necessary to make a pic of the proper way it should be connected and place it beside it as comparison.
