Talking So I just dropped my j-spec in...

Well it has been almost a year now that my 89 gxl has had an engine sitting inside it. Now it looks better from the outside and the inside as well. It no longer sits up higher than a ford ranger... I need to extend the j-spec wiring harness and splice in the crap from my a-spec n/a... The whole thing went off prettly hastle free unlink most things on this car... The cherry picker was not long enough to just drop it into the engine where it sits on its mounts so I had to get it in as far as I could then pur my jack under the car and manouver it from there, I started at 11AM and went till 4 thats with posting on the forum takeing a lunch break and putting in the new ACT clutch and pressure plate then mating the tranny and the engine. Ill get some pics, I cant wait to start it up and **** my neighbors off

Nice job feast! I've got a 89 J-Spec turbo that I will be mounting in my GTU this weekend. You've got me all pumped for this weekend to come now , zoom zoom.

On one note, did you tear it down and re-build it? I just put mine back together, and I just wanted to say that from what I have seen from the J-spec's internals, they have all been very, very clean. Every piece looked like it had 50K on it, I was in tears I was so happy to see my rotor housings were mint. Yes that right, tears.

Ya I rebuilt mine, new FD corner seal springs and rotary aviation apex seals, I really didnt need them but I figued what the hell, they werent that much. My internals looked brand new they were very shiney and everything on the outside of the engine looked good except for some, to be expected, road dirt. It was hard to take pictures of stuff because they were so shiney
