smoking at high rpm

my oil seals are having issues after 5000 rpm,white-ish grey smoke, not to thick, and not sputtering.do oil seals go bad fast after they start to go?.....and this car is an 86 non turbo.for a rebuilt engine installed i was quoted 2500-3000. is this worth it?or should i sell it and look for a diferent car. the car looks good, not rust, and the only thing that doesnt work is the sunroof, ill have pics on here soon,so my posts arent so boring

no they just won't seal at high rpms, I drove my 89 around for 6 months like that, and then I wrecked it, sold it to a guy, who sold the motor to someone else who is still driving it around!!!! Just rember to fill you car up with oil every week or so I lost a quart about every 2 week, but I used the smoke screen alot

Mine does the same thing I have a 86 N/A for my work car, it has been doing it for over a year. I still beat it and rev it high and she still is runnin strong. I am thinking on putting a new clutch in but I am worried she will pop right after I do that LOL.
