Exclamation The smoking @ startup problem fixed!???

Every morning my na fc used to smoke like hell when i would start it up. Mainly just when it was cold, or after setting for a while, but I have found that if you let it idle for about 30 secs before you shut it off the night before it wont smoke at all, and if it does, just a little bit. Tell me if it works for you guys.

White is coolant. Blue is oil.

Trust me its oil. I can smell it, maybe it does have a bluish tint to it i guess. Btw my car runs really rich could that cause the smoke, and how long does it take to burn off the atf from the atf trick?

First, never do the ATF trick. Second, most FCs burn a little oil at startup. The oil seeps past the side seals after the engine has shut off. This will happen on both a new engine and an old engine, so it is not really a problem. Usually the smoke only lasts a few seconds (or 20 seconds or so) so it's not really a problem. If the engine constantly smokes even when warm, the side seals are wearing down...

Most RX-7s run rich, which would NOT cause blue smoke. Smoke from running rich is black.
