yo my 86 n/a smokes with exhaust pretty bad from under the hood when i rev it up high... i gotta small crack in my main cat with the split air pipe, but i gont think thats where its coming from.... i got PS header... no leaks except that crack in the cat... could it be coming from somewhere else besides the exhaust??? white greyish smoke..

 

Got anything leaking under the hood? Oil? Water? Leaking exhaust manifold gasket........

 

its your seals going out......time for the rebuildddd.... oil sealss

I would suggest eliminating the cat to begin with, and if the problem continues look into a 13b swap.

 

open your hood up and rev the throttle body with your fingers. try to see where the smoke is coming from. Then get back to us

 

i had this problem once. i did what was just suggested and found that i had a verysmall fuel leak that was dripping onto the exhaust manny and smoking! glad i caught that quick!!!

 

ok, well i do have oil leaking, but not on my header, in the front by the OMP... i doubt its oil seals, and its not coolant smoke for sure.., it drives fine and plenty of power, the smoke smells rich of fuel like exhaust, and it only does it when i rev it to like 7 or 8 grandish without a load. some GTO reved on me, so i had to rev back, but i got smoked.. anyways, not a fuel leak, for sure, cause i just put new injector line and PD on like 6 months ago, do you think it could be coming from that small crack on my main cat/? the crack is kinda by the split air pipe... the car hardly ever smokes, it barely smokes when cold, for about 2 secs then clear exhaust. so i dont know, it seems to be coming from the transmission area, thats why im wondering if its that cat, but i didnt think that much smoke could be coming from such a little crack.

i will get rid of cats as soon as i get enough dinero to do the aux ports actuator conversion thingamajig... please help
