Smoke @ High RPM's

I recently transplanted a 1988 NA 13B into a 1986 NA that had a toasted motor. The new motor (Purchased from a junk yard) runs fairly well, but smokes around 6500 RPM ( And up to temp). When the motor is warming up I can run her all the way up to the redline (OK and maybe a little more).

I hope to run her in some SCCA events local, but would like to stop attracking the fire department when I drop the hammer.

Ideas?

when you say up to temp, do you mean that it smokes after 6500 until it warms up or it smokes only after it warms up?

The car runs great when it is cold or hot. But after I run it for about 5 - 10 minutes it will smoke at high RPM's. As for the colr I would say it is more blue than another color. I am guessing that I either getting blowby (Oil getting by the Apex seals or my oil metering pump is sending to much oil to protect the seals??

Either way has anyone heard of this before (I was thinking I should take it to a local Mazda dealer for the special Mazda compression tester that looks at all the Apex seals).

Oh yeah it doesn't sputter until I hit the redline (Rev limiter??)

I'm guessing oil contol rings. If that's the case, then you'll need a rebuild to keep the fire dept. away.
