Smell gas, fuel leak, now what....

Ok, I smell gas when I start the car, I thought it was just cuz it was cold, but after I ran for awhile and the engine warmed up, I still smelled it, inside the car and inside the engine compartment. Where should I look for the leak? I dont know anything about the fuel system so ANY help is good help. What should I look for and where should I check? Thanks.

Sounds like a fuel pulsation damper (dampner to the spelling-impaired). Do a search and DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR OR IT MIGHT BURN TO THE GROUND.

I had a big leak for a few weeks and luckily I didn't get a fire. You might not get that lucky. Tear the upper intake off, jumper the fuel pump and look for leaks.

Seriously, take the time to find this leak or you may have no mode of transportion. You don't want to experience the sick feeling of watching your car turn into a campfire. Look at it as a good way to get to know your car better by taking some of it apart.
